The year kicked off with the Chinese New Year Rooster knock-out tournament held on the 18 & 19 February 2005 at the RJCC courts. The fiercely contested tournament ended up in a few upsets. The players went all out to show their supremacy because this tournament would decide their squash ranking at RJCC. The results were as follows, in the order of ranking.

A word of advice from YAM Tunku Bendahara Johor on how to improve squash in Johor

The above Championships were held on the 19 August 2005 at the RJCC courts. The players were divided into 2 teams as follows:

On paper it appeared that Tean “HEAD” would be the runaway winners but Team “WILSON” had other ideas and played some delightful squash to ‘hammer' (to say the least) Team “HEAD” (Score 3-2). Luckily Team “HEAD” received one walkover which made the score line look more respectable.

Final Result: Winners : Team “WILSON” Runners up: Team “HEAD”

The above friendly was played on the 23 rd September 2005 at the UTM Skudai courts in their beautiful campus. This was a keenly contested game and some have labeled it as “THE LOCAL DERBY” to decide which team holds the squash supremacy in Johor Bahru. With due respect to the UTM players, the team from RJCC ruled supreme AGAIN!

Our gracious host held a sumptuous dinner after the games and was followed by the exchange of gifts between the two clubs. Congratulations to UTM for being such wonderful hosts and we hope this annual games will be an important feature in our squash calendars.

The above Championship was held on the 9 th December 2005 at the RJCC courts. A High Tea was held before the start of the games to get the players into the right frame of mind. Looking at the furious pace of our players, some curry-puffs and sandwiches could go a long way keeping the players in the courts under extreme cardiovascular conditions.

Congratulations to the Club Champion and Runner up – but please don't rest on your laurels because there are two new squash players who have just joined the club. We welcome Dr. Raj and Khairul Nizam. From what I have been told, these two new members could give our club champion some problems to think about in the next club championships. I think we are into some exciting times as far as squash is concerned come next year.

Last but not least, I would like to thank the RJCC Manager and the RJCC Management team for supporting all our activities.
